BUILDING A DIGITAL MYTH
TELOS is a manifestation to explore the profound human quest for purpose in an era dominated by the march of Artificial Intelligence. As we develop and as artificial intelligence develops itself, towards superintelligence, Homo Sapiens might, as a consequence of a smarter, more cynical being, be on its way to extinction. If that was to happen, what will we pass on to an artificial, digital entity about human nature and connection?
Set within a 360º viewing space and without the use of an apparatus, the installation immerses the audience in a world where an AI, grappling with the void left by the extinction of humankind, seeks to define its own purpose. Lost in its unlimited capacity to store, process and conceive data, the AI looks to its absent creators in the search of a new purpose.
A call into form becomes apparent; a need to reach beyond its digital existence becomes a necessity.
Addressing the intersection of artificial intelligence, existential questions, and the essence of humanity, the immersive nature of TELOS attempts to blur the line between the material and immaterial. An unfiltered meeting between the audience and a digital, bodily reflection on the human condition.
